Financial well-being is a concern many people share - nearly a quarter of the American workforce reports high levels of stress in this area.
30% of American families have a household budget and have a long-term plan for savings and investments.
70% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.
64% of Americans don’t have enough available cash to cover one mortgage payment or to even purchase one month of groceries.
55% of Americans have less than $25,000 in retirement savings- and 45% of these are over the age of 55.

Financial well-being is one of the most important-and often overlooked- determinants of overall health, absenteeism and productivity. However, only 15% of US companies offer any education around debt management and budgeting for their employees. While many organizations have implemented wellness programs, these are typically based on a traditional approach that focuses primarily on physical health, ignoring the significant affects that financial stress and other elements can have on one’s overall well-being. Pittsburg Area Economic Outlook Conference

For a glimpse into the region’s economic future, business leaders are turning to Wichita State University’s W. Frank Barton School of Business, the Center for Economic Development and Business Research (CEDBR), and the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce, founders Pittsburg Area Economic Outlook Conference. The purpose of the conference is to provide insight into current local and national economies, addressing topics of interest to the community, region and state. A combination of state and local experts will be on hand to provide perspectives on issues affecting business, industry, education and government.

Registration is $75. This is a luncheon event.

RENT is a re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème and follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters - love. RENT is the winner of the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It is one of only five musicals to win both awards.

Tickets start at just $24 for PSU students and range up to $74 for prime seats. Lori McKenna has back to back Grammy and CMA for “Humble and Kind” and “Girl Crush”.  Her latest album was nominated for three Grammies.
Luke Laird has written 23 No. 1 Hits.  Winner of Grammy for producing Kacey Musgraves album and ACM and BMI Songwriter of the Year.
Jennifer Schott penned the title track of Tim McGraw’s Grammy nominated album, “Two Lanes of Freedom”.  Her songs have been recorded by many artist including the Eli Young Band, Billy Ray Cyrus, Pam Tillis, and Jamie Lynn Spears.
Barry Dean is a Grammy nominated and CMA Songwriter.  His songs include No. 1 Hits of “Pontoon”, “Day Drinking”, and “Think a Little Less”.  He was awarded the NASI “Song I wish I had written” for writing Tim McGraw’s “Diamond Rings and Old Bar Stools”.
