Jayhawk Construction Team Invites Area Business Representatives to Coffee
Please join key members of the Jayhawk Wind construction team Monday, Jan.13 at the Girard Civic Center, located at 102 N. Ozark Street in Girard. Apex Clean Energy, developer of the Jayhawk Wind Project, will be hosting the Coffee to provide an opportunity to learn more about how local vendors will be able to participate in the construction of Jayhawk Wind.
The team will provide information about the wind farm construction process and discuss what products and services would be needed. Vendors and area businesses are invited to join anytime between 2 pm and 6 pm.
Wind farm construction is a very specialized process, but it requires common products and services, many of which can be found locally. This work includes truck hauling, upgrading and building roads, third party testing, surveying, port-a-potties, concrete services and supply and installation of erosion and sediment controls, fences and culverts. In addition, services such as lodging, food, and more are needed to sustain the hundreds of workers who will be employed to build the project once construction begins.
