Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House Charities
You can help families of seriously ill children by supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States when frequenting your local McDonald’s anytime.  A new way to give is to “Round-Up” your total to the nearest dollar to help local families.   Eating McDonald’s fries also means helping families. McDonald’s donates a Penny For A Pound of fries - a few fries can make a BIG difference. Additionally, McDonald’s restaurants donate a portion of proceeds from every Happy Meal® sold to RMHC of the Four States.

USD 250 Distinguished Alumni Nominations

The USD 250 Foundation is currently accepting nominations for the PHS Distinguished Alumni for 2020.  Candidates should have distinguished themselves through their work, personal accomplishments, or in the lives of others.  These individuals serve to inspire our students to greater achievement.  For eligibility guidelines see the Foundation’s web site.

· Nominations will be accepted through February 17th.
· Eligibility includes graduates from PHS at least ten years prior to nomination.
· Anyone is welcome to submit a nomination.
· Nominations should be submitted using the Foundation’s online questionnaire.
· Nominations should include one additional letter of reference/supportive letter from someone other than the nominator.

Pittsburg High School Theatre presents "Freaky Friday"

This musical adaptation of the classic novel by Mary Rodgers and movie features an overworked mother and her teenage daughter who magically swap bodies and have just one day to put things right again. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter. Best of Broadway: An American in Paris

The national tour of Broadway's "An American in Paris" is coming to Pittsburg! 

Hoping to start a new life, World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan chooses newly-liberated Paris as the place to make a name for himself as a painter. But that new life becomes complicated when he meets Lise, a young Parisian shop girl with her own secret, and realizes he is not her only suitor.  

Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film, it includes the Gershwin songs “I Got Rhythm,” “Liza,” “'S Wonderful,” “But Not for Me,” “Stairway to Paradise.”

Subject: Statewide Job Fair- Pittsburg

The fifth annual Kansas Statewide Job Fair will be held on Thursday, April 2nd, 2020 at 11 different locations across the state, for the convenience of the interested employers. The event will run from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at all locations. The event is free to attend!

In the Southeast Kansas region, the event will be held in the lower level of the Memorial Hall in Pittsburg, Ks. If you wish to attend, please register with the registration link included below for the Pittsburg event

Pittsburg Earth Day Celebration

The City of Pittsburg Sustainability Advisory Committee (SAC) is hosting the Pittsburg Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at Pritchett Pavilion.

This event is held to gather community members, and to discover and celebrate local organizations that support a healthy sustainable environment. There will be food and drink vendors as well as organizations that will provide demonstrations, educational resources, and interactive activities.
